Common DIY Injuries & How To Avoid Them [Guest Post]

With the summer season behind us in the UK and the garden furniture in storage for another year, many home owners turn their attention to interior home improvements. Unfortunately, there’s still a growing number of visits to A & E from people with DIY related injuries. Although we can’t cover all injury types we’ve found a few of the most common ones are showcased in the infographic from Westfarm Windows & Doors, a Glasgow based double glazing business.

Do It Yourself injuries are common among your normal home owners and while some are unavoidable, there are lots of precautions you can take to reduce the risk of injury. Did you know that alcohol plays it part in as much as 30% of DIY injuries? If you want to have a beer, make sure you reward yourself with one after the DIY project is done.

Preventing DIY injuries can be as simple as wearing the right clothing, wearing safety goggles and making sure all equipment is secure and in good working order. The well-researched infographic below shows the data from some of the most common injuries suffered while taking on a DIY projects.
