Everyone likes to say their town is a great place to live. But, people that live in St Augustine know it’s a great place to live.
We’re not the only ones that think it’s a great place – a bunch of national magazines have rated it as one of the best towns or places to live. On top of being a great surfing spot, and tons of history, St. Augustine has a great deal to offer when it comes to living and enjoying oneself.
If you are thinking of moving there to live or to retire, St Augustine is the place to go. It’s honestly one of the few places someone can live on the coast and actually afford a bungalow. There are reasonable real estate prices anywhere from a low of $55,000 to a high of $300,000 (obviously we have million dollar homes too – but we’re talking affordable!)
I know I’m telling you that St. Augustine is great – and affordable housing isn’t the only reason why! If you’re wondering “why?” then here’s the reasons:
Beaches – If you enjoy spending time on the beach, there are plenty of beautiful, white sand beaches, where you can soak up some sun and enjoy the view of the ocean.
Live Music and Entertainment – we have the St. Augustine Amphitheater that offers different entertainment, great music, opera and drama. Plus there are festivals and art walks all through the year.
Food – fine dining restaurants and “hole-in-the-wall” establishments are all over St. Augustine. You can hit up an amazing five-star restaurant and grab a gelato on the go. Any type of food is available to you.
There are a number of nice neighborhoods for families and retirees as well. If you are looking for variety, Anastasia Island is a wonderful community with a lot of character and friendly people. Marsh Creek is a somewhat upscale neighborhood, with a gated community. Other places with single family homes would include: Sea Gate, Sea Palms, Lion’s Gate, Island Hammock, and Anastasia Lakes.
